Chimney Sweep Time

Remember last year when I told you all that I would be redoing our living room? (Posts here and here). Yeah, that took a long time and I finally decided to show you a picture from the fireplace painting project. Man, people do not tell you how hard it is to paint one of those things. It takes like 48 gallons of paint and a lot of time.

This is like the ugliest brick ever. And the bookshelf? Never ever paint a bookshelf a matte bright color. Always paint it with a semi-gloss paint to reflect light and be a focal point. Duh!

I took off the HIDEOUS fire place screen and never looked back. Brass is not class. Repeat. Brass is low class. Just kidding but I do think it is a huge improvement. I also changed out the knobs on the bookshelf. Hung a strange but good-for-now piece of art work and called it a day.
