Just kidding but not really... If you haven't kept up with all of the info about the Farm Bill no worries.. Neither have I. The gyst of it (in my super dumbed down, Sarah-version) is this:
It promotes healthy/ accessible foods that are sustainably grown by local farmers.
It wants to "break up" food monopolies so the small guys can do good business without going bankrupt.
It asks the farmers to farm in a way that is not only healthy for us, but healthy for our environment.
The Fair Farm Bill asks all of that above but also wants to be able to label GE foods as "GE foods". Personally I don't think that is too much to ask- it's not like we are asking every woman who has fake boobs to put a label on her forehead proclaiming "I have fake boobies". That'd be sexist.
We are only asking our government to label the strange science project "vegetables" that they are passing off as food as GE in the grocery store. And that is fair.
They label organic foods- what's wrong with asking this? Would it make the population ask too many questions? Would it make us question the concern the FDA doesn't show about our health and wellness? God forbid we do that.. It just might lose someone in Washington their job.. No concern that these goods could cause CANCER folks.. I know I am not a scientist so I am sure I am just running at the mouth but I really would like a choice (choice=labels) in what kind of corn I am eating, whether it is white sweet corn, yellow corn, blue corn, or devil-GE-fake-corn.

| I get to be a total crazy blogger at least once a month right? :) |
All these opinions are solely mine.. And I didn't research this that much because I'm just another dumb blogger and that's what we do buttttt I ask that you look into what your Senators did or did not vote for- you might be surprised that they are much bigger assholes than you ever could have imagined. I however was not, because I already know... Thanks Pryor and Boozman. I hate you.
