The one day a year that it's all about me.. Supposedly

Yesterday was my birthday... And it was awesome! I have the best friends, family, and coworkers... I got to eat cake from my favorite bakery, Sylvek's, not once but THREE times. That's right... I got three individual cakes... Loves itttt!! I dropped some serious hints to B about where my birthday cake should be purchased: 


"Brady, if I don't get a cake from Sylvek's on June 26 you're dead..". 


Okay, not really but maybe. I guess I dropped those hints at work and with my fam as well because every time I saw one of those suckers they had a Sylvek's box in hand. 

Those bakers definitely know how special this Sarah is: three cakes. one day. Winning.

Brady started my morning off right with breakfast in bed which was an awesome change-up from the dreaded smoothies. Around 11 am the co-workers decided it was cake and present time which was a-okay to me because I love eating dessert first! Round one of the cakes DONE and it was time for lunch with the Mom. Mom showed up to pick me up in Meghan's car which was not weird because she and Ann were IN THE CAR! Surprise!!!! I just love surprises. We dined at Brave New restaurant where I got a delish salmon and finished with a slice from cake number 2.

One of the best restaurants in LR. Ann didn't really like the salmon.. or the rice pilaf and mainly stuck to her peas.

Brady cooked us dinner last night because he is an awesome cook and we ate out all. dang. weekend. Most nights I would rather eat with him in the quiet of our own home, even though right now it is empty. Yay for moving!! He made NY strips with a delish goat cheese, garlic, and shallot cream sauce, roasted veggies and fresh (from our own garden) tomato bruschetta. How did I get so lucky?

After dinner we went out for some live music at The Joint and The Afterthought. The Afterthought was way more fun because those guys are so damn talented. Like, I am perplexed that they live in Little Rock when they could be so much more successful with a life on the road with Dave Matthews. Reality check, they probably would so rather be doing that... Hmm.. Personal mission: Get them discovered!

And because Friday was also my birthday (ha ha) I will give you a couple of snapshots from then too. We went to Stickyz to watch B's brother's band play their final show with their bass player. This was my outfit:

Texting Megs a picture to make sure I don't look skanky... You can't trust your husband with questions like that ever... He would say "noooo" while silently thinking "yes". Always gotta call in the reinforcements.
