Friday, July 6th.
We are in the new house rockin' and rollin', undoing boxes and boxes when all of a sudden a rain storm comes along. This is great news right?!? Considering it hasn't rained in probably two months we are A-okay with our moving being interrupted by the news of rain. The back of our house is all windows so we are having a great time admiring the pine trees as they swayed and danced in the straight line winds and rain. (sarcasm). Then our electricity goes out.
Okay, we think. Let's just go back to the old house, get the last few items and clean up and surely when we get back it will be back on.
We load up and do all of the above.
Let me interrupt this "live" story with a little public notice. It was Friday, as in the day before we left for our week long vacation. Also, as in the day after we closed on our new house and also the day that Meghan, John, and baby Ann were to stay with us in said new house.
We get home it's around 11 pm and still no electricity. After waiting about 20 minutes for Meghan and John to get there we start thinking of back up plans.
- Backup #1: Ben and Candi's house. Electricity is also out...
- Backup #2: Robert and Barrett's house. Lost hid-a-key.
- Backup #3: Holiday Inn by airport. Winner!!!
We ended up at the sketchy airport Holiday Inn around 1:30 am. We only had to go back to our house once for my make-up which I had left in all the darkness and hysteria. I am for certain God had already made our reservation at that sketch-ball location because after all of the hoops and obstacles placed in our path- there is no way it couldn't have been his plan. All you can do is look back and laugh....
Until next post--- I promise I will get to Boudreax.
