ArchetypeMe

I have a new addiction- ArchetypeMe. No this is not a sponsored blog post.. It is just a fun post, about a fun website, that you get to take a personality test for.. And I love me some personality tests. In college I took a "Career Planning" course and we had to take the Myers Briggs- I loved it- I think that dissecting someone's personality is one of the most fun  creepy things. Same things with horoscope profiles. Love em. Anywho- I have been playing around with the site for a few days and from what I gather it gathers content (think movie/ entertainment/ newsworthy articles) based around your personality profile. It is also community driven, in the sense that you can invite friends to join you on the Archetype journey and see their profiles and vice versa.

This is my "profile"

Check it out and let me know what you think.. You're welcome for giving you yet another way to waste time at work.. Like we all need a new social media platform. :)

Breakfast Nook

I am in serious "house revamp mode" right now.. Last night I came home and randomly decided it was time to paint our downstairs guest bathroom.. Random... My next project- like for real get-it-done-ASAP-project is getting our kitchen/ breakfast nook put together. People- we have been living in our house since July and still don't have a breakfast table or chairs.. It's like this huge empty corner of the kitchen that I refuse to look at. The only thing that resides in that lonely corner is our dog's food bowls and puffs of their blonde fur. Sad. Soo... I have been perusing Pinterest and some of my favorite blogs for some ideas. I am eclectic and cannot commit to a clean design palette. No Pottery Barn cleanliness for me- I'm the kind of girl whose house looks more like a flea market than a showroom.. That also might be sad but it's me.

Here are some of my idea photos right now.

White banquette seating with ticking fabric. Eclectic pillows.

More of a color palette photo. We have natural cabinetry, will have white bench seating, maybe the pink/raspberry on chairs (below)?

Love love Tulip tables..

Found this idea board on Furbish's Pinterest.. It made me feel better that the pink dining chairs I loved and pinned from Overstock appeared on here.. Makes me not that crazy for wanting pink chairs right?

What do yall think? Total bust or fun?

PB2: My favorite new food group.

Hellooo Monday! I hope your weekend was as relaxing and joyful as mine! Sunday always serves as the errand day- grocery store, Sams, ect... and on this week's trip we stocked up on some healthy things. I am trying this new thing called "menu planning" to try to save on time, money and mid-week energy and I think it is going to be a glorious improvement over the:

"Brady, what do you want to eat for dinner?"
"I don't know. What do you want?"
"Hmm.. let me think"

routine that we do 95% of our weeknights.

I always check out the Undressed Skeleton blog for some healthy recipes and she has been using this PB2 product in things lately so I assumed I just HAD to buy it.. It is a powdered peanut butter product that you can either mix with water to make healthier "peanut butter" or sprinkle on foods. Let me tell you- it is divine!! I, of course, don't mix mine into protein shakes or into gluten free pancakes.. I sprinkle it on frozen yogurt and mix into a peanut buttery goodness with tons of chocolate syrup because I'm healthy like that... It's also good when you lick your spoon and dip it into the jar.. not that I condone that sort of behavior or anything..

I opted for the PB2 with chocolate... Duh.

I recommend buying it like yesterday and let me know how you like it! Here is the website in case you need some recipe tips and please share some if you have any. I'll keep you posted on any other food revelations I have.

Bald eagle spotting over Christmas.

A place the dogs can run FREEEEEEE!!!

Happy weekend!

BCBG Jaclyn Pants

This weekend I went by Dillards to pick up some essentials (not gonna lie, it was underwear...) and I can't not walk through the other departments.. It's been proven impossible. The "contemporary" section, as Dillards likes to call it, was having a sale and this girl is in need of some new work pants. I tried on some Theory, Cynthia Vincent and BCBG slacks and this pair came home with me.

BCBG Jaclyn pants

Now I am going to need everyone to help out a bit in finding the other colors in this pant.. I need to also purchase the black, white, and tomato red pairs because they are the perfect length, fit and weight. So the next time you are in a department store perusing please go ahead and look for this style in an xsmall. I would be forever grateful and will send you thank you cookies in return.. This is serious. :)

Much thanks in advance and happy Wednesday!

Hair Help

Is anyone else experiencing INSANE static electricity these days? Yesterday I picked up Oliver kitty off of the bedroom carpet and was shocked so hard I swear I saw sparks.. And don't even get me started on how clingy my work clothes have been lately. Between the clingy silk and staticy hair, it is proving quite annoying for a long and fine haired gal to get ready in the morning. Today I figured I would put a stop to both these annoyances and I turned to Pinterest. This is the first Pin I pulled up.

Figures... It is from the LiveStrong website.. aka- Lance Armstrong is a liar.

Step 4

Comb the hair with anti-static spray. The friction from combing and brushing can cause static in the hair. An anti-static spray will have the same affect on hair as it does on fabric fibers.

Step 6

Wear a silk scarf. Silk is very smooth and generates very little friction. The less friction against your hair, the less likely static will develop. During the winter months, tie a silk scarf around your head before putting on heavy woolen caps.

Well isn't that profound? I don't even know what anti-static spray is much alone where to buy it? Is he referring to hairspray? I also don't wear "heavy woolen caps" so I have no need for silk scarfs to go under them.. I can only assume that Lance is writing this article ;). These tips aren't going to help much so I'll turn to my favorites that are at least deterring the problem/  making winter hair bearable.

Batiste Dry Shampoo: It is a God-send! I buy mine at Kroger for nine bucks or so and it is helping me "train" my hair so I don't have to wash it every day.
No. 4 Clarifying Shampoo: I mentioned in Friday's post and told yall I would let you know if it was a true winner. I never order the products Birchbox sends me unless they are fab and this one made the cut. This will be my go-to shampoo for a while...
This stuff is awesome.. Using any finishing serum would probably do the trick if you didn't want to spend $42 on Kerastase. Smells delish!

Do you have any products that are must-gets for this time of year? Please share.. Any tips for controlling static are also greatly welcome!

Citrus Wine Spritzer

The weather in Little Rock yesterday was beyond fabulous- 70 degrees and sunny in January? I'll take it! This celebration called for a festive cocktail.. and I also really needed to use the grapefruit that has been in the fridge for a week.

Here's what I used:

Voga Pinot Grigio
Cascade organic citrus twist sparkling water
Grapefruit
Sugar
Ice

First mix about 4 ounces of white wine with 2 ounces sparkling water over ice.

Then slice open your grapefruit and run the rim of your glass against fruit. Dip glass in sugar.

Slice up a quarter of your grapefruit into small(ish) pieces and place in glass. Strain drink into glass and enjoy!

Ahh! Delicious and pretty. Makes me think summer is right around the corner!
